Polaroid Camera Fun

Awhile I (N.) posted some images from our “green wedding” and promised more soon. Apparently soon is a very relative term in my vocabulary 🙂 The picture above and ones below were taken by (and copyrighted by) Dawn Sparks. If you are in the Denver, CO area and looking for a good photographer she takes great shots and is super easy to work with.

Photo booths are a huge trend in weddings but they are also really expensive. I’m not sure if polaroids are more or less eco friendly then a photo booth but they are certainly cheaper. We used cameras that have been in our families since J. and were both kids. Contrary to common belief you can still find new Polaroid film at drugstores, discount stores and warehouse stores but they are a bit spendy. Each pack contains 10 pictures and on sale I think we still paid $15 a pack. We ended up overbuying but I think it was worth it for the incredibly funny pictures we got. Everything else on the table was stuff we already have so it evens out I suppose.

Since we knew people might be a bit uncomfortable just taking photos of themselves we decided to provide a couple props. The pink frog and pink zebra striped tie are both items J. won at Dave and Busters during his bachelor party. People really got into it and these photos are my favorite memento of the day. I wish I had given one of my siblings a Polaroid camera to take photos throughout the day. There is just something special about them..

That’s really neat! I love the idea of having them attach a note too!
