One of the steps that J. and I wanted to make was to switch over to non-toxic, eco friendly cleaning products. So as each of our old products get used we will replace them with something better for the environment. I was more than a little leary of this dishsoap because it got mixed reviews on Amazon but it was the only option available at the store so we bought it and braced for the worst.
So far we’ve done four loads (and we load that washer up!) and it works great. There is a little residue on some of the dishes but that happened with Cascade too. There is no film on the dishes as some people found and the dishes are sparkling clean with only filling up half the tray with soap. I’m not sure if the product has been revamped since some people tried it or if our dishwasher is better (we live in an apartment so we have no control over what type of appliances we have but I can’t imagine that they are top of the line). Either way we give this product two thumbs up for being environmentally friendly and getting our dishes sparkling clean.

Looks good, thanks for the tip! Where can you buy it? I don’t think I’ve seen that in the shops.

We found it at the grocery store at a nearby military installation but you can also find them at most health food stores.
I imagine using a dishwasher detergent that is full of chemicals is not good for people’s health. But, I just don’t know a lot about the topic. I would like to switch to a natural detergent. I was wondering if anyone knew of any informative websites talking about negative effects of chemically detergents (like cascade) as well as other cleaning products. THANKS:)
Mary,
I am by no means at expert on the ins and outs but here are some links with more
information. Hope it helps!

Thanks for the review. I haven’t tried this yet.
We used this too…I didn’t realize that we had a box of regular chemical filled detergent so we are using up that box before we go back and use this one. Love this…can’t tell a difference between the two.
I have used Seventh Generation products in the past and they have been very good. There are some other great products available now as well. Green cleaning products have gotten better over time. They are now generally just as effective as traditional cleaners, comparative in cost, and safe to use. A good lens to check out about Dangerous Household Chemicals is:
